I did not go to the art museum.

I (almost) never travel without visiting centers for visual arts - museums and such.

But we were on a tour and focused on music during this trip and so we only saw a few works of art - paintings in one of the hotels stopped me in my tracks. Some of the galleries/shops had amazing work.

Still...art will have its way!

We all noticed that graffiti is almost nonexistent in the parts of Ireland where we traveled. I remember two spots  - one under an overpass.

But I did see two "works of art" that may still be "iffy" for some. I love them. Introduced to these types of work by our oldest child, I am always giddy when I spy one.

In Dingle, County Kerry:

I was wandering down the street and stopped. "Whoa!" said I.
It is likely not by Banksy. It is, however, Banksy-esque. And it would not be the first time someone in Dingle created art that raised the issue. Could be the same artist.*

In Doolin, County Clare:

I was standing outside a pub (waiting for someone I think) when I saw this familiar face looking at me - Andre the Giant. See him?
No question. This is an Andre the Giant, Obey sticker by Shepard Fairey.** Doolin is in the middle of nowhere, but it is one of those "cool" places where you expect to see this.

Our children change our vision.
