Ahead of the school bus...

We could tell the weather was about to change. As soon as we exited the house there was something different in the air.

Oh, yes, it will still be hot, but the highs and lows are shifting around and we will drop out of the 100s and maybe even see some rain.

The hazy sky made a red/orange ball of the sun as it rose over the park. We saw another couple with two black labs leaving the park as we approached. The sun was in our eyes, but when they spoke we realized they were long-time friends - folks we raised kiddos with. They asked about our pups. "We left them at home, today," we said.

It was a fast walk. We keep trying to get back in the habit before we have to shift even earlier (to avoid the school rush). We have only a few days left.

I made a mental note to call the city about the pothole/sink-hole starting in the middle of one of the side streets. The street is sinking around the small hole.

We had lots to do today - no time to waste, but time enough to greet the sun and a few neighbors.

Hazy morning
Ground cracking in the park
Sticker burs - not a fan, I
Wild petunias insist on blooming in spite of the dry heat.
OK. I just like the way this photo turned out.
The street base has eroded and a pothole/sink-hole is starting.
It's only about 5x6 right not, but a bigger hole is coming. [That's my delicate size 9 used for comparison.]
