People don't notice
whether it's winter or summer
when they're happy.
~Anton Chekhov
Yes, we have seen snow flurries. We've had a couple of times the temperature has dropped below freezing and the wind has chilled the bones, but today was the day. Frost iced the grass and the bridge railings. Our breath fogged the air.
Birds were singing, but the squirrels stayed in their warm nests.
We walked and ran. The dogs chased balls and each other.
Finally, fully chilled and worn, we all headed home to start our chores.
A sliver of moon overhead as the sun comes up |
We always check for spiders on the bridge and other critters below. |
These silly girls chased the balls and wrestled. |
Birds perch in the treetops. |
We were almost alone in the park. |
